Whispering Pines Shoreline Buffer Project

 

Whispering Pines, located along the north shore of Shawano Lake, installed a shoreline buffer along several hundred feet of their shoreline.  Through a collaborative effort with Shawano County and SAWM, they installed literally thousands of native plants and shrubs in an area that was previously lawn.  If you boat along the shoreline you can see how the shoreline buffer looks. During the summer you will see the plants blooming while providing a protective barrier for runoff from this property.  You can see pictures of the installation project below.
